Charleston, South Carolina’s Tape Waves are poised to release their sophomore LP, titled Here To Fade, at the end of the month through Bleeding Gold Records. The band has partnered with Substream today to premiere its second single, “Standing In Line.”

Much like its lead offering, “So Fast,” the band churns out soft indie pop with dreamy, ethereal tones as if Real Estate joined forces with Tape Deck Mountain or Belle Mare for a low-key supergroup of sorts. However, despite its tremendous calming effects, the band notes that the single’s theme is a bit dispirited:

“‘Standing in Line’ recalls that lovesick feeling, when you’re waiting on the person you love to live up to your ideal of them, only to realize they’re only going to keep disappointing you. It’s about holding onto that sadness.”

Digital and physical (CD, vinyl) pre-orders for Here To Fade are currently available through Bleeding Gold Records ahead of the album’s July 29 release date. Listen to the album’s newest single, “Standing In Line,” below.
