We’ve been getting lucky with some cool music videos for albums from 2015 recently. Just last week we got Courtney Barnett’s music video for “Elevator Operator” from her March 2015 album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit. Icelandic group Of Monsters and Men are also getting in on the action, releasing a lyric video for “Slow Life” from last summer’s Beneath The Skin (via Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter). This follows their recently released and similarly styled video for “Winter Sound” which featured Icelandic actor Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The BFG, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty).
The newest video stars fellow Icelander Tómas Lemarquis, who you may recognize from 2013’s Snowpiercer or this summer’s mutant blockbuster X-Men: Apocalypse. The concept for the video is simple, with Lemarquis lip-syncing the song as the lyrics run beneath him. While the video isn’t complex, it does show off Lemarquis’ acting chops, as he gives an incredibly intense performance with just his facial expressions and body movements.
