It’s been over a year since Courtney Barnett released the excellent Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit. In addition to still being a phenomenal album, we now have a new music video from the project. Barnett released the video for “Elevator Operator,” and it is a must-watch.
The video follows Barnett in the role of the titular elevator operator, but it’s no ordinary elevator. This elevator makes stops in some unusual locations, such as beaches and bowling alleys, and picks up a whole slew of unique passengers. Barnett’s guests on the elevator include nuns, a girl in a horse costume, and a magician. The video was directed by Sunny Leunig, with makeup and costuming done by Selena Pretzel and Lou Mclaren.
After checking out the video for “Elevator Operator,” be sure to give Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit a listen if you haven’t already. It’s one of the best albums 2015 had to offer, and is currently streaming on Spotify. If you dig it, you can purchase a copy through iTunes and Bandcamp.
