Kansas City rockers the Conquerors boast a kind of timeless feel in their sound, with classic rock roots that intermingle with retro pop and jangly, psychedelic soul. It’s the type of material that’s proved so successful for bands like the Strokes while hearkening back to genre pioneers the Kinks, the Animals, and the Zombies. Today, the Midwest quartet has joined forces with Substream to premiere a brand new single, titled “Yes I Know,” that’s taken from their forthcoming LP, Wyld Time, due out on August 26.

Touching on the themes of their newest track, Conquerors guitarist/vocalist Rory Cameron says:

“This song is sort of a personal criticism of positivism, or the preemptive patting on the back one does before actually achieving anything with that mode of thought. It also deals with the estrangement of two people who used to love each other and how the things you used to find appealing about someone can suddenly become annoying after a breakup.”

Pre-orders for Wyld Time are available now through High Dive Records until its official release on August 26. Enjoy “Yes I Know” below:
