New Jersey rockers Save Face are kicking off a new release cycle with the Jim Brindley-directed video for a brand new single, titled “Ditched.” The song is taken from the band’s upcoming six-track EP, which is due out on July 8 through Take This To Heart Records. You can check out the visuals for the passionate and dynamic new Save Face single below to get an idea of what to expect from the band’s upcoming release, Folly.
Speaking to Substream about “Ditched” and its accompanying video, vocalist/guitarist Tyler Povanda offers:
“I’m really excited to kick off the release for ‘Folly’ with the music video for ‘Ditched.’ This was the first song we wrote after writing ‘Brain’ last year, and the video completes a three-part thematic storyline with the videos for ‘Preoccupied’ and ‘Brain,’ juxtaposing the darker themes with a more light-hearted storyline.”
Povanda continues, speaking specifically about his band’s new EP:
“‘Folly’ is meant to personify the way in which we derive our self-worth from anything but one’s self. These songs are an examination of a breakdown in communication, both internally and externally. It’s an acknowledgment of the toxic nature by which we try to minimize anxiety; it’s a desperate attempt at finding some sort of solace in coming to terms with the things you choose to bury deep within yourself. We feel we’ve captured a sound that we’ve been constantly striving for over the past year, and we hope that anyone who listens can get some sort of meaning out of these songs no matter what it is.”
