Local Natives have taken to Facebook today to announce that their much anticipated follow-up to 2013’s Hummingbird has a release date. The new album, entitled Sunlit Youth, will be arriving on September 9 via Loma Vista Recordings and Concord Music Group.

The Los Angeles-based group also unveiled an extensive world tour kicking off this summer, with a smattering of festival dates sprinkled in as well. The tour begins July 16 at Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY, and the North American portion wraps up on October 26 in NYC. The band then travels to Oxford on November 1 before the European portion of the tour ends in Copenhagen on November 22. A fan mailing list pre-order for the tour begins tomorrow, June 8, before tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, June 10.

The band’s website is loaded with information, plus pre-orders for the album. The pre-orders are currently available in digital, CD, and vinyl (with digital download!) formats, and also in a bundle with a pretty rad t-shirt. In addition, pre-orders come with access to Local Natives’ new songs “Villainy” and “Past Lives” right now.

You can listen to “Villany” below via its newly released lyric video, and be sure to check out all the tour dates to see if Local Natives are making a stop near you.
