Wreck-It Ralph was a seriously fantastic movie. It featured an interesting premise, excellent performances from its cast, and the animation is still top-notch. We don’t know how many times we’ve watched it since it came out in 2012, but it’s safe to say the number is pretty high. In news that came straight out of our dreams, Disney just announced that Wreck-It Ralph 2 is coming our way in 2018.
The announcement was made via a Facebook Live broadcast on Disney’s page. Co-directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston—both of whom had a hand in co-writing the wildly successful Zootopia (Moore also co-directed the film)—were on hand to make the announcement, with some help from Ralph himself, John C. Reilly. It sounds like the scope of the movie will be much bigger this time around. “Ralph leaves the arcade and wrecks the internet,” Reilly teases. And, of course, Reilly couldn’t appear without giving one hearty “I’m gonna wreck it!”
The tentatively titled Wreck-It Ralph 2 is arriving on March 9, 2018, so mark your calendars and clear your schedule accordingly.
