Paul Feig’s reboot of Ghostbusters is just two months away from release, and so far the internet cannot seem to settle on whether or not it is excited for the film to hit theaters. Some believe the film was created specifically to please those who claim studios never give women powerful roles, while others believe the entire production is a shameless cash grab. We happen to think the new film looks pretty fun, and a new trailer released this week gives us hope that the flick might be something great.
Blending footage from previous trailers with ample amounts of supernatural mayhem, including a brief shot of what appears to be a mutated Stay Puft marshmallow man, the new preview for Ghostbusters relies on action and one-liners to sell tickets. The results are visually stunning, offering a look at several ghosts and ghouls never before seen in the franchise, as well as a possible reveal of the the film’s main villain. You can view the new trailer below.
Ghostbusters arrives in theaters on July 15. Will you be lining up to see the film on opening day?
