In mid-2015, it was announced that Smashing Pumpkins braintrust Billy Corgan was joining TNA Wrestling as Senior Producer, Creative and Talent Development (which is a fancy way of saying “He’s the booker”). Now, with TNA’s flagship program, Impact, switching networks to Pop TV, the company has given itself a musical facelift, calling upon Corgan to create a new theme for their show, and the rocker responded by donating a previously unreleased Smashing Pumpkins song called “Roustabout.” You can hear it below.
“Billy and I were discussing creative elements for the show when he suggested the song and presented the opportunity to use it on Impact Wrestling,” TNA executive John Gaburick told Yahoo! Music. “To be able to use an unreleased Smashing Pumpkins song is awesome and sets a commanding stage as fans tune in every Tuesday.“
TNA’s current roster includes a number of former WWE stars such as Kurt Angle, Jeff and Matt Hardy, Bobby Lashley, Gail Kim and Mickie James. Impact Wrestling airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Pop TV (channel 117 on Dish and channel 273 on DirecTV).
