The word “disenchanted” has kind of a weird connotation to it. Most people view the word as a synonym for cynical—something you experience as you get older and see how the world really works. But there’s the flipside to “disenchanted,” which is that it means you’ve woken up from whatever spell you were placed under and have your wits about you again. Pop-punk unit Handguns falls into that latter category—while there certainly is some anger and venom on their new album, Disenchanted, overall it feels like a freeing record for the band, one that proves who they really are, trends be damned. Handguns’ Disenchanted will be released November 13 via Pure Noise Records and can be pre-ordered here.
