Baltimore pop-punkers Heavyweights have announced their new EP,  Keep Your Friends Close. The release was produced by Eric Taft from The Buzzlounge Studios, and is set to drop on September 9.

On September 6, the band will be joined by Post Season, Firestarter, and more Northeastern musicians for a release show at Ottar in Baltimore.

Heavyweights originally formed in 2011 with the concept of a pop-punk version of The Beach Boys iconic Pet Sounds in mind. Crazy, right? They thought so. Still, they prevailed as a pop-punk band drawing influence from 00s pop-punk legends Yellowcard and New Found Glory.

With the release of Keep Your Friends Close, Heavyweights looks to continue their momentum beyond their home state, as they develop their hard-earned and quickly growing reputation as ones-to-watch in the Northeast alternative scene.
