Sacramento, CA’s A Lot Like Birds, who just wrapped up the No Place Tour, is already gearing up for their next American headline tour: The Substance Sequence Tour, which will kick off on January 8 in Oakland, CA. The month long run will feature support from Sianvar, Stolas and The Venetia Fair.
“The No Place Tour had the perfect blend of musicianship, new friendships made, and an eclectic mood throughout. We couldn’t be happier with our tourmates: HRVRD, Night Verses, and My Iron Lung. The audiences were appropriately insane and we will never forget the blood, sweat, and tears we left behind us,” shares A Lot Like Birds.
“On another exciting note, the next tour in January is going to be an entirely different beast. We are taking out Stolas, The Venetia Fair, and Sianvar across the country on another headliner. This is our “secret weapon” tour. Our drummer and bass player will be playing for two bands, the shows should be insane, and I can’t imagine anyone wanting to miss out on this experience. We are undulating with excitement to hit the road again after the holidays!”
A Lot Like Birds‘ dynamic new album takes listeners on an eerie roller coaster of beautiful chaos, with arching cinematic interludes laced between destructive gut-wrenching, chill-inducing masterpieces. Thematically the album revolves around a single concept, exploring the emotions behind rooms in a home. No Place is out now on Equal Vision Records.
An in-depth intricate track-by-track feature written by the band can be found on RockSound.tv giving further insight into the elaborate writing and recording process for No Place.
The sextet also recently debuted their music video for “Next To Ungodliness”. The intense video can be found HERE. The video was filmed in Sacramento, CA with director Michael Elinn.
A Lot Like Birds features duel vocalists, Cory Lockwood and Kurt Travis, who seamlessly intertwine, layer and harmonize while interchanging singing, screaming and spoken word duties, guitarists Michael Franzino and Ben Wiacek, bassist Michael “Butter” Littlefield and drummer Joe Arrington.
