A lot has changed since the last interview and album review for Cassadee Pope’s self-titled EP last year. Since then she has won the highly watched singing competition show ‘The Voice”, traveled the country doing a radio and press tour, and now Cassadee is on tour with the country superstars, “Rascal Flatts”. WOW.

When Cassadee was on The Voice, her coach was Blake Shelton, which obviously had a big influence on her new country-pop sound. Every fan of hers has been waiting for the first single to be released since she won The Voice…. Well it is here!

There were a lot of worried people at first when hearing about her venturing into a new genre, as I’m sure many of you were too. After finally listening to the highly anticipated single “Wasting All These Tears”, all worries have vanished. As soon as she starts singing the opening line, it gives off that same great feeling you had when first hearing Hey Monday or Cassadee’s solo EP.

Yes, the sound is a country-pop mix, but it still has the great Cassadee Pope vocals and song writing on it. The chorus in this song is really catchy, and she shows her great vocal skills in it.  It definitely sounds a little bit more like the sound of Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood, but that isn’t a bad thing. Venturing into the country-pop world is a smart move because you now have 2 genres that you can branch out into to reach people. I am excited to hear the rest of this album when it is released. Cassadee will be performing this song tonight ‘The Voice”.
